Housed in a beautifully restored 1858 Grade II listed market building, Mackie Mayor is a laid-back food hall that brings together some of Manchester’s best independent food and drink vendors under one spectacular glass roof.

Located on the edge of the Northern Quarter, this spot is perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner—in fact, you could easily spend the whole day eating your way through it.

With a mix of flavours from around the world, you’ll find everything from sourdough pizzas at Honest Crust and rare breed steaks from Tender Cow to steaming bowls of ramen at New Wave Ramen and crispy fried chicken from Mumma’s.

‘‘This place is great! Stopped by for a pre gig bite to eat, great atmosphere, great selection of eateries and the drinks were great too.
I had a flat iron steak from Tender Cow and a mocktail from one of the bars. Will definitely go back. Fab table service too :)’’

What we think:

Great spot to catch up with friends, grab a drink pre gig or simply indulge in some freshly baked pizza. Fair prices and lively vibes too. It is a pass on our Meent radar.
