The Climbing Hangar Reading is the kind of place that makes working out feel like hanging out.

Whether you’ve never climbed before or you’re halfway to scaling El Capitan, this indoor bouldering gym has something for everyone—walls to climb, a proper little café, and a community that’s all about good vibes and chalky high-fives.

If you're new to climbing, no worries—they’ll give you a quick induction when you first arrive (just make sure to book it online).

You’ll get shown the ropes (well, there are no ropes—it’s bouldering!) and be set up with everything you need, including free shoe hire.

Prices start at £8 off-peak or £15 peak, and there’s a Family Bundle for £20 if you're bringing the crew before 4pm on a weekday.

Kids can climb from age 4 upwards (with an adult keeping an eye), and there’s a bunch of classes to get involved in too.

Classes like yoga for climbers, women’s nights, and Rock Club sessions for younger climbers. Most are free once you're through the door.

‘‘I came today with a friend as he recommended me and was welcomed nicely by Connie who gave an amazing induction and gave some little tips and tricks before letting us crack.

Connie provided free chalk as it was my first time and was really nice and helpful. I had a great experience definitely will be coming again.’
